Meet
Rosalind “Roz” Bevan (she/her/hers) is a director, casting director, and producer. She is drawn to work that centers the undeniable resilience, humanity, and depth of who we are. She finds beauty in the complicated and imperfect, the messiness and struggle. She tells stories that ignite both the fighter and lover in her.
Roz has co-produced and directed two independent projects in Los Angeles — a sold-out workshop production of HOW TO HAVE SEX AGAIN by Louis Reyes McWilliams and a staged reading of Kira Rockwell’s OH, TO BE PURE AGAIN. She recently was the associate to Whitney White on White’s original piece, MACBETH IN STRIDE at Yale Repertory Theatre and BAM as her Drama League Directing Assistantship.
Some of her directing credits include STEW at Gloucester Stage; NO CHILD… and TWILIGHT: LOS ANGELES, 1992 at Newton Theatre Company; ECHOES by Patrick Gabridge and THE 54TH IN '22 by Kirsten Greenidge, two short audio plays at The Huntington. And MARCUS; OR THE SECRET OF SWEET, THE MOORS, and PROOF at Boston University. She associate directed TINY FATHER at Geffen Playhouse and ARROWHEAD at IAMA Theatre Company. She has also directed a number of readings and workshops.
Roz has also led workshops about professional theatre and audition technique at various colleges and universities including Boston Conservatory, Northeastern University, Emerson College, Tufts University, and Wabash College. You may have also read her theatre criticism in WBUR’s The ARTery. Roz holds a BFA in Theatre Arts Design & Production with an Emphasis in Directing from Boston University.
When she’s not reading plays or in the rehearsal room, Roz is watching a healthy(ish) amount of 90 Day Fiancé and documentaries. She loves reading non-fiction, eating charcuterie, drinking wine, and facetiming her sisters.
Roz is currently based in Los Angeles.
Roz was recently named a member of the Drama League Directors Project 2024 cohort as a recipient of the Irene Gandy Directing Assistantship.
A Directing Hit — Rosalind was recently featured in Boston University’s CFA Magazine.
